Linked Reports are the reports which we create on server side. It’s like creating the shortcut of existing report with different settings. These setting are of permissions, Name, Description, Security, Parameters and Report Execution.
Getting into more details suppose I have one common report which fetches the sales data for all the regions as a base report. Now I want user to see the data on basis of their region only. Here I will create a copy of existing report with internal parameter having a region value for which user is associated. I will give user this new link copy and it can be access by the filter data. Rest all permissions can be satisfied on this link report.
